My pics for the 2010 Academy Awards--Best Picture

*** ‘Avatar’***My pick to win

James Cameron and Jon Landau

The two reasons why I think ‘Avatar’ is going to win best Picture. The first reason is what I call the Batman Effect. It was highest grossing movie of the year and in history. Also so they can say that the 10 nominees for Best Picture worked, because they screwed up big time last for not nominating ‘The Dark Knight’ for Best Picture. Second is because ‘Avatar’ make people feel good and in a bad time. The up beat feeling the movie give people when they leave the movie and message that people go away with after seeing the movie. Now see I have said nothing about what a Best Picture should winner for. The technical (Special effect side) aspect it was the best movie of the year. Plus it would be the first Si-fy movie to win Best Picture.

‘The Blind Side’

Gil Netter, Andrew A Kosove and Broderick Johnson

Is a only a great movie because of Sandra Bullock. (See Actress in a Leading Role for more information)

‘District 9’

Pete Jackson and Carolynne Cunningham

‘District 9’ was the second best movie with the technical (Special effect side) aspect.

‘An Education’

Finola Dwyer and Amanda Posey

I Did not see.

 ‘The Hurt Locker’

Kathryn Bigelow, Mark Boal, Nicolas Chartier and Greg Shapiro

In my mind and heart this is the Best Picture winner. It saw an awesome movie. If it does win it will be lowest grossing box-office to win Best Picture.

‘Precious’

Lee Daniels, Sarah Siegel-Magness and Gary Magness

‘Precious’ is also an awesome movie that got lost in the list because of ‘The Hurt Locker’ and ‘Avatar’ war.

‘A Serious Man’

Joel Coen and Ethan Coen

They already won with ‘No Country for Old Man’.

‘Up’

Jones Rivera

‘Up’ will win for Animated Feature film. Plus it a hard sells, just a comedy is.

‘Up in the Air’

Daniel Dubiecki, Ivan Reitman and Jason Reitman

‘Up in the Air’ is also an awesome movie that got lost in the list because of ‘The Hurt Locker’ and ‘Avatar’ war.
