Former WWE Superstar Self-Destructs at Indy Show
Former WWE superstar -- and former substance abuse rehab patient -- "Mr. Excitement" C.W. Mayher apparently self-destructed during a live benefit event in Ohio over the weekend.
Fans attending the show witnessed a stumbling, overweight, rambling Mr. Excitement struggling to form a coherent sentence, while addressing the crowd moments before his match for the Superior Pro Wrestling federation.
But the story behind the scenes is even more tragic. According to several sources, the 45-year-old legend was found passed out backstage moments before he was scheduled to perform. Sources say when Excitement was woken up, he was "aggressive, violent and asking for an 8-ball." Nearly two dozen empty airplane bottles of vodka were found by his ring gear.
During the match, Excitement was clearly unable to perform, barely responding to the barrage of punches he received from his opponent and close friend "JV" Charlie Sims. Around one minute into the match, Excitement's opponent -- clearly frustrated with the situation -- whispered to the ref to end the match. Afterwards, Sims grabbed the mic and told Excitement "I've wrestled drug addicts ... you are a piece of s**t, Excitement. You gypped these people. F**k you."
After the verbal assault, Excitement pulled down the front of his pants and exposed his penis to the crowd.
Backstage after the match, Excitement broke his hand punching a wall, then ran into the street crying. An ambulance and police were called to the scene, but Excitement, who refused medical treatment, was not arrested.
"This never would've happened if he had just signed that WWE Legends contract like I told him to do" fellow wrestler and friend Crashnet said when told of the incident. "We're all here for him."
"We're all pulling for him. I know this is a huge setback, but I think he'll see the light and get his life back together in no time" wrestler and friend Billy Armbarr stated. "He has a great mind for the business. If he can keep his demons under control, there's no limit on what his future can bring. He was the one who volunteered to practice with me when I was working out the kinks in my Billy Can-Rana, Franken-Billy, and my Super Billy Blizzard Blast."
This is truly sad. I grew up watching this guy in the ring. So many of my fond memories of sports entertainment in my youth revolve around this guy, from his stunning debut at Starrcade '87 to his brutal hell-in-a-cell match at Superior Slam 2000, and that feud in 2001/ 02 with Huge Smallcock resulting in CW Bubba-Bombing Repulsive Cunt through a table. I'm sure we are all praying for his health to whichever deity we feel may or may not exist.
