Comes a Time

Wow...every off-season I actually feel something resembling hope for the Detroit Tigers to get their feces together, and bring in a few cool new free agent players that might actually lead them into finishing a game above .500 for the first time in approximately 147 years.  So it is with great enthusiasm that I announce the fresh new young reliever they just picked up to be their big closer...Todd Jones.

Heck yeah!  He's what?  47?  I know he had a good season last year so maybe this will work out.  Just like the old closer they picked up last year that did so well.

And apparently according to CBS sportsline, they are also gonna sign mild-mannered starting pitcher Kenny Rogers to a two-year deal.  You have no idea how hard it is for me not to make a Gambler joke, or a drunken hick joke, or a "I was raised on the dairy, bitch!" joke so show a little respect.

But there are people who work for the media on this website...so I'm gonna throw this question out there:  Are there any people in the local media that you would like to see Kenny Rogers beat the ever-living-crap out of with a camera?  Then he can get booed at the All-Star Game again next year...oh wait if he's pitching for the Tigers he'll be 4-13 heading into June.  Never mind.

The People's Comments:

foley:
I want to see Kenny Rogers beat the living snot of out Rod Allen. Why? Because every frickin' game last year Allen would brag about how Juan Samuel was the best third base coach in the league. I hate you Rod Allen, and who gives a flying rip about a frickin' third base coach?

crashnet:
I will Root Root Root for the home team, if they don't win it's normal. For it's one, two, three strikes and we are out at the new ball-park.
