Hey guys, be sure to get your resumes in...especially you Foley!
From the AP this morning:
DETROIT (AP) -- Manager Alan Trammell was fired Monday by the Detroit Tigers, one day after the team finished 28 games out of first place in the AL Central.
The Tigers went 71-91 this season and compiled a 184-302 record in three seasons under Trammell. He had one year left on his contract.
The Tigers lost an AL-record 119 games in his first season as manager, then the team took a step toward respectability with a 72-90 record last year. With a lineup and bullpen that seemed upgraded, the Tigers thought they had a chance to have a winning season in 2005 for the first time since 1993.
``You will not find a more dedicated, hard-working and respected individual that cares more about the Tigers and his coaching staff,'' team president Dave Dombrowski said in a statement. ``However, for the Tigers to reach the next level, I feel it is appropriate to make a change at this time.''
So basically in the last few months in Detroit three of the four coaches of the big four sports have been fired. Anyone see the Lions game yesterday? Yeah, Mooch...you may want to have a bag packed just in case!
In a way, I feel bad for Trammell, but he'll come to realize in a few weeks that he getting fired is the best thing that could ever happen to him. This year, the Tigers were a bunch of winey, overpaid and unmotivated morons and it all started with Pudge, or Slim. As for my resume, I haven't updated it since I attempted to get that PR job with the Tigers in 2000, so I probably wouldn't stand a chance. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to get ready for tonight's episode of Laguna Beach. That Kristin, she's so hot!!!
I blame 'Pudge' for the problems the Tigers have had. He seemed much happier when he was fat.
Someone needs to feed Pudge to make him happy to be in Detroit again...
Cdeezy, the WNBA isn't a major sport... infact, I'm not so sure it's a sport.
Mooch? What about ol' Billy boy? Yeah, I'm pointing the finger at you, Laimbeer! You haven't made it out of the first round in two years! Five all-stars, three Olympians, and you still choke like the Spartans playing Michigan? What gives?
