Reunion of the NMU Baseball Team, take 2

Ever since pimp-ke first made us aware of the possibility of Northern re-starting its baseball program, I've wondered just how a university faced with the possibility of losing ten percent of their state funding could afford such a move. Nearly two months later, I'm still wondering how they're going to afford it.

That said, it's apparently all systems go for a return to Division II level play. At least, that's what NMU's Assistant Director of Admissions for their Madison, WI office is telling potential students, and it's not like the Admissions office would ever lie in their recruiting, especially about things like established relationships with universities in Québec. But I digress.

The point is that my experiences with the NMU Baseball Team were some of the best of my college years, and, as a proud NMU alum, I welcome any and all attempts to make attending Northern an unbelievable experience. And even if Coach Preseau isn't able to return to the Wildcats, I'm sure that anyone who shows up for the walk-on tryouts won't regret it. They may regret a good deal many other things, like the team banquet at Beef-A-Roo, but not that.

NMU: Where the 'N' stands for knowledge!

If you notice, the guy asks about baseball, and Michelle Borleske says, 'yes, we have a D-II BASKETBALL team', God woman, read the question...it's two different sports!!!

It is with great regret that I announce I will not be able to coach this resurging NMU Baseball Team for its 2006 campaign. I have taken a position in a Fantasy Football League and have to once again try and mold Ricky Williams into the player he might be instead of the player he unfortunately was.
